Room Arrangement Guidelines

Seating:

People standing - 5 to 6 sq. ft. per person (cocktail parties)

People standing and sitting - 8 sq. ft. per person

People sitting 8’ long tables - 10 sq. ft. per person

People sitting 60” round table - 12 sq. ft. per person

Buffet & Head Tables: Allowing 2.5’ around all sides (even if serving from one side).

1 - 8’ table: 100 sq. ft.

2 - 8’ tables in a row: 160 sq. ft.

3 - 8’ tables in a row: 220 sq. ft.

For each additional 8’ table add 60 sq. ft. to the total area needed.

Cake: (round)

The size of this table depends on the cake size, number of guests, etc. Allow 4’ clearance around table.

48” round table: 113 sq. ft.

54” round table: 123 sq. ft.

60” round table: 133 sq. ft.

Gift Table: (rectangular)

If standing away from the wall use the same area requirements as for buffet tables. If table is against a wall:

1 - 8’ table: 65 sq. ft. + 40 sq. ft. for each additional 8’ table

Bar:

8’ table only used alone as a bar: 114 sq. ft.

Dance Floor: (half of the guest dancing at one time)

3 to 5 sq. ft. per person
